Hundreds of New Brunswick local government campaigns get underway - BERITAJA

Hundreds of candidates successful New Brunswick are formally kicking disconnected campaigns for section government, acquisition councils and agrarian advisory committees today.

Elections New Brunswick says 1,102 group submitted information papers for 599 assembly positions wrong 77 section governments.

Elections will beryllium held for 52 mayoral positions while 25 mayors were acclaimed, pinch elections planned for 211 councillor seats while 136 spots were acclaimed.

Two assembly positions successful 2 communities remained vacant aft nominations closed Friday, on pinch 4 agrarian territory advisory seats and 18 territory acquisition assembly spots.

Only 5 of 12 agrarian territory advisory committees and 11 acquisition councils will require elections.

Craig Pollett, an Atlantic Canada municipal adviser, says he’s watching if candidates moving against caller section authorities reforms will get elected.
